When I think of The Hague, I think about the fresh air in Scheveningen, the Haagsemarkt and politics, parliament. But The Hague has an important fascination of the city court and the charm of the neighborhoods, it looks like that it’s a small Parisian city in the Netherlands.  Although I heve been living here in The Hague for two years and a few months. I thought I already knew every corner of the city of The Hague. Oh, I was so wrong, because The Hague has so many small and nice places. The alleys of the city are small, but this doesn’t make them less fun. The Hague is a city with a lot of different culture and that makes the city more atmospheric, winter is a great time to enjoy the meseum or to heat yourself to a Hague cup of coffie in the inner city of The Hague.

Myself and some other bloggers and magazines writers were invited by Miss Publicity, marketing & PR agency, to have a city tour through The Hague and we had the opportunity to visit the hotspot in the inner city. Below I explain briefly where we have all been.

Our short tour started on the old molstraat, left around the corner is a Hug the Tea, the shop & bar is located in the Hofkwartier of The Hague. Here you can go for a tasty and healthy lunch! they sell their own tea brand HUG THE TEA, tea service and accessories that are handy for loose tea and Matcha. In addition, they have all kinds of Matcha drinks such as the Matcha Teashot & Latte, Matcha treats such as the macarons, cake, blissballs and more.  Every month they take care of Tea Tastings, serving 5 rounds with various Japanese teas (including Matcha) and snacks. This is also called ‘tea pairing’. In addition, Matcha Workshops, where they show how to prepare Matcha according to the Japanese tea ceremony. They also show the possibilities with Matcha, and of course they taste. You can find more information on the websites.

OHO DERA is a small jewelry store, the store is nicely decorated with a display case where you can see the jewelry. Behind is a small gallery where you can find everything, there you can also see how the jewelry is put together or repairs. A beautiful, accessible collection can be found in the playful showcases. All handmade rings, ear jewels, necklaces, and cufflinks are made of gold, silver and colorful gems. The beautiful butterfly bows from MRS. BOW TIE from London is a nice addition to the collection. At OH DEAR. New jewelry is constantly being created and, moreover, a design can be adapted on request. With the atelier in the store, you will literally find the secret of the blacksmith at OH DEAR. After we had delicious snacks and matcha drinks, we went to our next destination. We walked along the water to the strait for the beautiful Panorama Mesdag.  What an impressive place full of the painting from the city of The Hague. Panorama Mesdag is a museum that shows the story of the city by painting the painter was one the most famous painters of the Netherlands, H.W. Mesdag. The Museum, will give you a different perspective of The Hague. Panorama Mesdagis a museum attraction and as a typical Hague but at the same time international cultural-historical phenomenon that is accessible to a wide audience and can attract and inspire new generations for many years to come. In addition to all the beautiful images, the museum also offers a theater show that reflects the paintings to bring the image of the paintings to life, such as Storm from 1894. Lola Bikes & Coffee, is a small bar in the heart of The Hague, Lola has a nice concept and works with different target groups and for different purposes. Lola bikes & coffee is located at Noordeinde 91 in The Hague. At Lola you will find some of the best specialty coffees in the city as well as a lively bike community. Words are too short to express the ‘Lola experience’, you have to experience it yourself. Are you only a weekend in the city but you still want to join them? No problem! At Lola, you can rent racing bikes of different sizes. They also have a whole series of ‘vintage originals’, built up with spare parts that they have collected over time, for them as city bikes for those who like to stand out. Think of the ‘Motley Crew’ among the bikes. Send us an email in advance and we make sure that your bike is ready on arrival. For more information click on the website.

Coffeelicious is a small but cuzy coffe The dream started in 2012. Fiona Stoger, her husband Marc and her mother Joan opened their first breakfast and lunchroom in Dordrecht. Coffeelicious expanded rather quickly thanks to their hospitality, great homemade cakes, healthy breakfast and lunch choices. Coffeelicious opened a breakfast and lunchroom in Rotterdam, Breda and an extra shop in Dordrecht. In 2018 Fiona’s brother Wesley also joined the team as the family owned business is expanding.

For history both of the kingdom and of The Hague, a short tour by Escher in the Palace, which has a long standing tradition. it was once the winter palace of Queen Mother Emma and the working palace of the Queens Julianna and Beatrix. Now Escher is located in the Palace in this building. Almost all of the master’s work in optical deception can be seen here. You can also enter Escher confusing world ‘live’ in the magic room at the ‘live’ and Experience Department. In the museum, you can see in every room on the large window screen how the palace looked in the time of the king Emma. I have learned so much about the kingdom of the Netherlands and about how the kingdom is doing now, that has to do with King Emma, otherwise, the Netherlands would have had no kingdom. After a long day of walking, it was time for something that would give us some energy, was what we wanted and Saplab has everything we needed. If you like healthy juices, slow juices, and boosters, you have to be here. The owners will give you delicious slow juices, or fruit and other ingredients from the juice machine. To prepare Saplab Slowjuices, we make use of this bad boy. The juicer rotates powerfully but slowly while ensuring maximum enzyme and nutrient retention. You get the highest quality juice possible, made from raw and fresh vegetables.

I have always been curious about vegetarian dishes, so it was also a great opportunity to taste it. In the Vleesch Lobby everything revolves around vegetable meat; meat without animals, you can enjoy special dishes such as Vietnamese salad or roasted fish-free mackerel. The latest addition to the Butcher family and one of the first vegetarian restaurants in the world where vegetable meat is the central theme. Since April of 2018 they have welcomed carnivores, omnivores, herbivores and flexivores for lunch and dinner in they restaurant in the heart of The Hague. A place where a new era, that of flesh without animals, is ushered in tastefully. for more information click here on the website .

We end our delicious and certainly instructive tour at our last place, but that doesn’t make it any less fun, you know what they say ‘save the best for last’ in this case this saying was certainly useful. They welcomed us with a glass of wine and starters, then they told us a little history about the restaurants. During the course of the evening, we got a wonderful specialty food of the house, and we talked and laugh and had such a great time. The Brasserie Walter Bene is located on the Denneweg in The Hague. it is stylishly furnished in a mix of industrial and robust, the brick wall and wooden tables with sturdy steel legs. The Denneweg and Frederikstraat are known as a bit of boastful. The brasserie is especially popular with a slightly larger audience. For more information click here on the website .

I hope you like it.  Have a beautiful day and may God bless you above all your  expectations <3
